Lou Shook performs originals and fresh arrangements of covers from the 1970's to now. Available as a solo, duo, or 4-piece band. Performing at clubs, restaurants, parties, weddings and corporate events throughout Southern California.

Since Y2K

Lou founded The Flounders Band in Encinitas around Y2K.Originally we called ourselves BeanTik & The Jumpin' Flounders. Soon shortened to Flounders. Not afraid to get wet, we styled ourselves as the perfect pool party band. Influences include Van Morrison, Honk, Taj Mahal, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, James Taylor, Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel. We're not a classic "Surf Music Band" but our style reflects a lifestyle of surfing and a Southern California vibe. Hope to see you soon.

The music of The Flounders draws upon influences of rock, folk, surf and island grooves. Lou Shook wrote and arranged the original songs. The Flounders have produced two CDs - Around The World (2005) and Goin' South (2010).
